Installshield Tuner For Lotus Notes 8 3,5/5 2159 votes

Hi there, I am trying to install Lotus Notes 8.5 by creating a package. It runs fine up to 95% of the install and then I get an error: Could not copy file: The system cannot find the file specifed. Old Path: C:UsersDefaultinstall.xml, New Path: c:Program filesIBMNotesframeworkrcpdeployinstall.update.xml At first I thought it was a Lotus Notes issue itself but I can run the application directly and it installs fine, it's when I package and deploy via Config Mgr that it throws out this error message, rolls back notes install, and removes even the previous version of notes:( Anyone else experience problems deploying this app?

The InstallShield Tuner for Notes is available for download from IBM Passport Advantage. Download and install 'Install Shield Tuner for Lotus Notes® 7.0.x, 8.0.x and 8.5.x for Windows™ 2000, 2003 English (C84T5NA).' During download, accept defaults and when download is complete click Launch to start the Tuner installation process.

I've created the package and advertised, no go. Alrighty, I don't want to Jinx myself, but I think I got it working. Here's what I did:.

First, I downloaded and installed the Lotus Notes Installshield Tuner on my computer. Hi Reena, I'm curious, would you be willing to share how you had your package, program and advertisements configured for your 8.5 deployment? We're upgrading from 6.5.4 to 8.5 and I cannot get the 8.5 install to complete successfully. We're experiencing a similar issue where it gets 95% installed then rolls the install backwards, however I'm not getting the same error message. Also, I am running the application as a 'Run with User's Rights', and all of our users have local admin rights - but it is still failing.

It been converted to Assetto Corsa by Mr. I just added tv cam replay & change asphalt texture. Cytomic the glue r2r crack download. I am really thankful! I am so glad someone took upon themselves and made this wonderful track! With that said I want to go on to feedback.

Thanks in advance. Hi!, I never did get this working.

But this is how I had my package, program and advertisement configured: Package: Data Source: Always obtain files from the source directory Data Access: Access throught the common ConfigMgr package Under Access Account: Admins with full control Users with Read Program: Command Line: 'Full ClientC1SP4EN.exe' Run: Normal Req. Tab: Est disk space: unknown max allowed run time: 120 This program can run on any platform Environment Tab: Run with admin rights, allow users to interact with this program, run only when a user is logged on, runs with UNC name Advertisement: I deleted it from SCCM so not sure what I had it set to orginally. I hope that all made sense or helps. Perhaps one of the issues was that our clients had 8.2 installed as the basic version, and we were trying to install the full client for 8.5 and it is trying to install to a different location? Our users do not have admin rights to their computers. Running the self extracting exe works fine when not doing it through SCCM. That sounds horribly painful!!!

I will see what I can do. The only thing I have been doing different is I've extracted the contents of the C1SP4EN.exe executable file to a folder and played with the lotus notes provided silent setup variables. Not that I've had any additional luck with this. I will say though, it is very weird that during the installation process, notes2.exe kicks off while msiexec.exe is still running. It is almost like notes is doing some post-configuration durin gthe installation process. I don't know if it is related to the Eclipse stuff (Sametime, etc) that gets installed since IBM has to be stupid and externally configure that through the xml file instead of through the MST.

Notes

I'm trying a silent install right now without a pre-configured MST file right now to see if I can get it to complete. Hopefully, I'll have some luck.

Trying to find accurate instructions for installing Lotus Notes 8.5.1 is turning out to be quite frustrating. The install pdf references a tuner that is not available (or at least I can't find it and IBM states it doesn't exist and to use 7 which I can't find either). The instructions for 8.x don't seem to be correct for this version.I have InstallShield and created a response mst but during that process, the msi creates an install.xml (in the users profile) file that is not included as part of the install files so it fails to complete the install when run from a server share. I can't figure out which property needs to be set to what to fix this.I also see that the setup.exe supports a silent install but I don't know the options.Either way, I don't need to add any user settings, just install Notes, install the Domino admin console and turn off the mail options during install. If anyone has made sense of this convoluted IBM insanity, please pass on your knowledge because this is giving me a headache.PS: Yes I did look on the pages on the appdeploy site but I couldn't find this specific scenario. I'll will happily write a KB once I gather the correct answers for this.

I have InstallShield and created a response mst but during that process, the msi creates an install.xml (in the users profile) file that is not included as part of the install files so it fails to complete the install when run from a server shareJeff, any chance you could elaborate on this bit? I haven't had the 'pleasure' of packaging Lotus Notes, but my gut feeling tells me solving the issues with this install.xml file (seems to be the client install manifest file) might bring you closest to a solution.Could be I'm hopelessly wrong in this, but this sounds challenging, and I like that. Elvui zone ability not showing 2. What I read as far as command lines go for Notes points towards nothing more than an embedded msi (/s /v command lines), so it should be possible to figure out:)EDIT: I'm hooked now, damn you!!:D Anyway, have you read this?: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/0/1e7df169e5d95e1c808cd5?OpenDocument&ExpandSection=1.1%2C1.4#Section1.1PJ. Thanks for finding that. It looks like its the answer for the version I am using.I found a properties that get created/populated when the transfom is created. They don't exist in the native MSI.usrManifestLocationXPDUSERHOMEXPDUSERNAMEI've found that if they are deleted, the install.xml that is created at the time the transform is created is not referenced. For ALLUSERS=1 to be 100% true if you want this install to be for multiple users or possibly for use when using a deployment tool (eg: install runs as System), ApplicationUsers needs to be set to AllUsers. The instructions for the Setup.ini appear to be what is required to pass parameters to the MSI. Then use setup.exe /s to start the install silently.I'm still working through this and will need it to be tested by the Domino Admins, but it looks like this will be the answer.

Here is the compiled notes for the install. I'll create a package KB for it later. The installer from IBM, notesdesigneradmin851w32CZ5S0EN.exe, has 2 options on initial launch.1. Install and cleanup the install files after setup completes.2. Install and leave the files to be used again. The second option corrupts the files. Instead I started the install and then copied the files out of the temp directory in my profile.I used these instructions as a guide.I created a Record MST for the changes below and added other changes.

I saved it and created Data2.cab and LotusNotes851.mst.I found properties that get created/populated when the transfom is created.
