It's a PITA, but if you can handle it, the BA mission in Murderlin's Temple is probably the best place. My first x4 was from a BA from the altar, but first you have to get a BA, and then the right kind of BA (I think wizards and fire mages just drop the shock and fire mods), and then hope that he drops an X4 mod.
